A popular argument in favour of the use of rock music is that Charles Wesley and Martin Luther used the popular tunes of the day for their hymns and William Booth was revolutionary in his use of bands, so what's the difference in using rock music? The difference lies in the fact that, on the one hand, we are referring to musical styles, while, on the other, we are referring to methods of inducing altered states of consciousness and this puts rock music into a category quite separate from any westem music which has gone before. This is not a question of musical styles, which can be disputed endlessly according to tastes. This is a question of whether sensory overload, repetition, and rhythmic drumming - tools long used by Satan to open the doors to demons - could possibly be used to open the door to the Holy Spirit.

Our comparisons are with known satanic methods, such as Transcendental Meditation, seances, yoga, drugs. Would any disceming Christian ever contemplate using these as a way of reaching God, or reaching others for God? It is into these categories that rock music falls. I have prayed my way through every book and article I have read and every point I have written. What I present here I know the Lord has called me to present. I was obedient to the Lord's Word and this is the result of my work with Him to guide me.
