It is fitting and most timely that Bob Wedge has decided to write his memoirs and put them into a story A Brush With Nature. The name Wedge is synonymous with the West Dandaragan area from Gingin to the Hill River and who better to record the virtual development of much of this untamed land. His two sons, Colin and Max, still farm this area with their families. Typical of Bob Wedge is his dedication of this book to his late wife Dorothy, his life-long partner, companion and mentor during the difficult but rewarding development of "Mimigarra". “A Brush With Nature” is not only a fitting tribute to our early settlers who endured the privations and hardships only known by those who have experienced them but tells the story in an interesting way tending to gloss over the difficulties but emphasizing the rewards. This story will be a happy reminder to many. It will bring back from the past memories of a time and people too soon forgotten, and so must take its valued place in the history of this area of Western Australia.
